The project was designed to meet the recommendations of the Raw Materials Initiative. A minerals intelligence network with a database providing access to an overview of European raw materials and a European Minerals Yearbook was created. The database was INSPIRE compliant and enabled data sharing in a harmonized way. It brought together 32 partners (all GSOs) from 26 countries. The database has since then been further developed and extended in the projects EURare, ProSum, RESEERVE, FRAME and Mintell4EU and is now the MIN4EU database.
